School Governor Recruitment Event

We are hosting a Governor Recruitment drop-in event for anyone who is interested in supporting one of our Hull primary schools.
These schools are seeking Local Governors who over 18 years of age and are practising Catholics, who have the professional skills and expertise to support our local primary and their Headteachers. They are nominated from the local congregations in the area and serve a 5-year term of office, bringing an important and valued perspective to the work of local governance.
The role of the Local Governance Board is:
  • To provide support and challenge to Headteachers to ensure that every child makes good or better progress, schools are achieving targets and continually improving.
  • To be responsible for the Catholic Life of the schools and for Safeguarding.
  • Ensure the schools deliver the Trust’s ethos, vision and strategy.
Skills and qualities of Local Governors:
  • Persons who may have experience in the following areas: Education, Safeguarding & Child Protection, Health & Safety, Human Resources or Community Engagement.
  • Persons who have the time to get to know and visit the school and attend meetings.
  • People who can have courageous conversations and ask challenging questions with an aim to help the school be the very best it can be.
