The Vantage Teaching School Hub is a professional community of regional, national and international partners who provide training and development giving the best possible start to early careers teachers and to teachers/leaders on the journey of continual professional development.

This post is a new position and presents an exciting opportunity to join a growing team with a newly appointed Teaching School Business Manager, giving you the opportunity to work together to build upon the great success of the previous year and embrace upcoming opportunities that will develop and expand the HUB further.

The right candidate will be a skilled administrator who will have a high level of organisational skills who will thrive in a fast-paced environment. This person will enjoy working with people and ensuring they deliver the best customer service to all users of the VTSH, whilst delivering the administrative functions including the DfE approved programmes we provide for teachers and leaders at all career stages.

The right candidate will be able to effectively and efficiently plan and prioritising work with a high level of accuracy using available IT systems and social media platforms to achieve the work outcomes.

We are looking to appoint a self-motivated and highly organised individual to work for the English Faculty on a 1 year fixed term contract to cover a period of maternity leave.

You will provide extensive administrative support involving all aspects of IT, data entry, in class assistance and administrative duties. The successful candidate must therefore have excellent attention to detail and the ability to perform administrative tasks in an organised and methodical manner. You should be able to work productively in a busy environment and deal effectively with enquiries from within the Faculty and from the students. You should be able to work effectively on your own as well as within a team.

Apprentice Teaching Assistants

St Mary’s College currently has exciting openings for the right candidates wishing to undertake an apprenticeship training path, for a career working with children and young people with Special Educational Needs (SEND).

We are looking for enthusiastic people with a keen interest in working with children and young people with SEND, this will include supporting them on their learning journey giving them equal opportunities to education, health and wellbeing, whilst ensuring they progress well and achieve/exceed their expected outcomes. This may include some supervised 1:1 work and working with small groups of students in the classroom.

As an apprentice you would work as part of a team of specialist Teaching Assistants with a breadth and depth of knowledge and experience, which will be used to support and develop you to successfully obtain a Level 3 Apprenticeship Qualification as a Teaching Assistant. This qualification is considered to be the equivalent of 2 x A Levels.

There are different rates of pay for apprentices depending upon age and the year of the apprenticeship scheme; the starting pay is currently
£4.81 p/h.

Applicants will be expected to have at least 5 GCSEs including English & Maths (minimum Grade 4) or a Level 2 apprenticeship qualification.
